rio nevado

i don't have a lot of photos of the this river but i wanted to post something about it. it is my favorite river in chilé...and anyone you talk to about it will say the same. it was described to me like this: take the green river narrows in north carolina, smash it together so the rapids are more stacked, add more vertical feet and completely gorged in and you have the rio nevado. that is a very good description indeed.

the run is a little over a mile with no breaks inbetween and set in a remote extremely tight gorge just outside of pucon. it usually runs in the late spring early summer so we caught the very last bit of it when we arrived and actually caught it again the day before we left...thank you nevado for sending us off with a bang and good water flow.

there are so many more cool drops and rapids on this river so i apologize for the lack of photos. we had a large crew the first time and so it was kind of caotic in there due to lack of eddy service. the 2nd time i didn't feel like shooting.

check out this http://vimeo.com/8676076 to see some cool footage of the nevado or check out the movie "mission epicocity" (there is an entire segment on it). it starts at about 50 sec. and then gets spliced in with rio turbio and some other rivers but you can see the slide, the crack drop and the wall boof pretty good. also, check out what the video is for. its a good cause!!
