spring update.

the summer is here! no more rain, 90+ temps and humid as hell. we had a fairly busy spring at the u.s. national water center for kayak instruction but has slowed down for the moment. since we were so busy i haven't paddled much other than at the whitewater center. i have been doing a lot of playboating and learning some new tricks. with the new features at the center it is a great place to learn some playboating skills.

as far as creeking goes, the green river has been the only thing running really and i am so happy that we have that river. no matter how much i run the green it never ceases to teach me something new and still gets my heart pumping.

fergus, sam and myself did manage to catch the last flow of the spring on the raven fork about a month ago. we did a double header, green in the morning, raven fork in the afternoon. what a day for sure. that was my first time down the raven fork and all i can say is...wow. that is an amazing run. probably the most amazing run i have ever been on. it was one of those days when you go out to a hard river with 2 friends and just paddle. no photos...no video just you and your friends and the river. it is big, scary, fun and beautiful all at the same time. i can't stop thinking about it and i must get back out there asap.

here are some photos from tuesdays 6/8/2010 trip down the green river.
