i am back at the u.s. national whitewater center for another year of kayak instructing. it was great to live in asheville for the last 9 months but it is really nice to be back in the queen city. this is year is going to be packed full of kids kayak camps, which i truly love to do. watching those kids progress from beginner to ripper in a few short months is amazing. makes me wish i would have started when i was a kid.
other news:
we are waiting on the new bliss-stick boat which should be here mid-june. i can't wait for that boat to come out. i think its going to be a sick design with more volume and hopefully they didn't soften the edge too much. it is what makes the mystic the sickest boat ever.
congrats to tino specht and chris gragtmans for placing 10th and 6th at the whitewater grand prix. that is truly an amazing feat for being amongst some of the best kayakers in the world. and congrats to lorenzo for placing first in mens shortboat and kira for placing first in womens short boat at the cheat fest this year.
trip to colorado, tmg and fibark, is canceled for me. its a bummer but planning to shoot some video on the green and head up to canada this summer at some point to do some playboating. look for some of that from pilotcollectivemedia.com coming soon.
i have teamed up with pilot collective media and we are now offering video production/editing, web design and graphic design. we will continue to push that and see where it takes us.
it seems that the rest of the year is going to be a good one. hopefully do some traveling next winter. i will try and get some photos and videos up. until then here is the latest from the chronicles of gnarnia:
